Hemel Hempstead Lion's Secondhand Bookshop in the Marlowes Shopping Centre has Moved

Hemel Hempstead Lions, supported by other local Lions Clubs, run a very sucessful secondhand book shop in the Marlowes Shopping Centre in Hemel Hempstead. On Wednesday 16th October they were given 48 hours notice to move the shop to another location.  Thanks to a Herculean effort all the racking and books were moved out and the old shop handed back to the Landlord on Thursday night.

Before any books could be loaded in the new shop, the racking had to be moved out and re-installed with plenty of bracing to ensure complete safety. This process is continuing and it is hoped that the new shop will open its doors to customers on Monday 31st October.

Why not come along?  It's still located in the Marlowes Centre, in what's called North Court  which is basically at the opposite end to M & S.

Although it's slightly smaller there will still be a large selection of books with most  priced at £1 for hardbacks, 50p for paperbacks and 20p for children's books

The shop turns over about 1500 books per week and all profits go to charity.

New stock is always wanted so why not have a clear out and bring along some of those books you no longer want.

As an extra treat come along on a Wednesday when the shop is operated by Tring Lions
